Kebbi Ranked Best Performing State At 99.7% By Day 5 Of Measles Vaccination Campaign

The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) has ranked
Kebbi State FIRST in performance in the implementation of the measles
vaccination campaign in the North-West Zone which commenced on November
9th, 2017 , according to the SSA New Media Kebbi State
It can be recalled that His Excellency, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu
approved N22 million as counterpart funding for the 2017 campaign with a
target to vaccinate 850,000
children aged between nine to fifty nine months. He also personally
flagged off the campaign in Bagudo LG with his wife Dr Zainab Atiku
Bagudu alongside other political, traditional and religious leaders. The
governors wife has since visited Augie, Koko and Zuru local governments
mobilizing, participating and motivating citizens and personnel in the
campaign. The advocacy is being championed at LG level by wives of
chairmen.

The Executive Secretary, Kebbi State Primary Healthcare Development
Agency, Munir Jega announced on Saturday that 1131 teams were trained
and deployed to conduct the exercise. It is expected that if the health
team continues with the current trend, there will be significant
improvement in the immunization level of Kebbi state which currently
unacceptably sits below 20%.
