The Theater Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole,  Maj.-Gen. Rogers Nicholas, has called on people in the North-East to support the military in the counter-insurgency campaign in the country. Nicholas made the call during a familiarisation visit to military units  in Maiduguri  on Wednesday. He said that the call was imperative to enable the military to win the war against Boko Haram insurgents and enhance restoration of peace in the region. “It is high time for people in the communities support the military by providing useful information on suspicious persons in their respective communities. “We need the support of everyone in the society to successfully complete the campaign. Rapper Joe Budden and former Love and Hip Hop star Cyn Santana welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, yesterday Dec. 15. Cyn took to her social media accounts to announce the happy news, sharing a picture of her baby's tiny hand wrapped around her finger with the caption: "Happy birthday baby boy. We love you SO much! ?." So cute! Joe Budden also took to his IG page to share photos of himself as a baby in his father's arms, a photo of his first born son who was born in 2001 and his new son with Cyn Santana. Coincidentally, their son was born on the 10th year anniversary of Joe Budden's album Mood Muzik 3. After announcing the birth of their son, Cyn went ahead and praised her 'husband' for being there for her. Of course, their fans noticed and asked if they were really married. A 45-year-old Nigerian man and three Vietnamese women were on Thursday, December 14, sentenced to jail by a court in Can Tho City in southern Vietnam for duping people including 40 women around the country out of more than VND20 billion ($900,000) Micheal Ikechukwu Leonard and his gang duped nearly 40 women into paying customs fees for non-existent expensive gifts from overseas. Leonard received 18 years in prison, while Huynh Ha Binh, Huynh Ha Uyen and Nguyen Tran Quynh Nhi, all from Ho Chi Minh City, got between 12 to 15 years each. According to the indictment, Leonard and Binh, 27 , started living together in August 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City before moving to Cambodia and opening a fashion shop. While in Cambodia, the duo hatched a plan to con rich Vietnamese women via the social media. Facebook’s Messenger and Zalo are the two most popular chat apps in Vietnam. Brent crude oil prices jumped above $65 per barrel after the shutdown of the Forties North Sea pipeline knocked out significant supplies from a market that was already tightening due to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) led production cuts. Brent crude futures on Tuesday, the international benchmark for oil prices, were at $ 65.07 dollars a barrel at 0211 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at 58.21 dollars a barrel. Britain’s Forties oil pipeline, the country’s largest at a capacity of 450,000 barrels per day (bpd), shut down on Monday after cracks were revealed. The Akwa Ibom State Police on Thursday said they arrested 67 suspected cultists and members of a notorious armed robbery gang. Briefing newsmen at the police Headquarters, the command's spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana, said that on December 7, police operatives arrested one Miracle Joseph Etukudoh, aged 20 years old, of Effiat Offot village in Uyo Local Government Area, who is the gang leader of a notorious armed robbery syndicate specialized in robbing people of their GSM phones, handbags, monies and other personal effects around Uyo and environ. During the course of investigation, three other gang members were arrested and one locally made pistol was recovered in the house of one Uko Effiong Edem of Ikot Oduot village in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
